XM46 Passive Line Level Crossover

      two way crossover

24 dB/octave 4-th order slope (Linkwitz-Riley) standard.
Other slopes optional.Asymmectric or symmetric slopes.
Crossover frequency 80Hz - 20 KHz.
Typical impedance 5KOhm
Uses high quality ferrite pot cores and polypropylene capcitors.
Needs no power supply.
Low Distortion(0.01% @ 1VRMS).
Very good signal-to-noise ratio.

The XM46 has a single channel (mono) filter on a single circuit board. Each board can be configured as a low-pass filter or a high-pass filter. The high quality of components is responsible for a very good sound quality. Because of the passive design the signal-to-noise ratio is very high. The noise generated by the crossover is lower than for the electronic crossovers. The use of large ferrite pot-cores for the inductors is responsible for the low harmonic distortion levels. The circuit needs no power supply and is ideal for incorporating into other equipment, like power amplifiers, etc. We can also provide these crossovers assembled into a cabinet, with or without output level attenuators. The cabinet version has the four filter boards inside.

A filter slope of 24dB/oct is standard, but other slopes can also be provided. Each of the low-pass and high-pass sections can be provided with 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th order slope and any xover frequency. Hi-pass and lo-pass can be the same or different.

XM46-A......Passive crossover board, mono high-pass or low-pass.
XM46-AA.....Passive crossover in cabinet w. level controls, stereo.
XM46SB-AA...Passive crossover in utility cabinet, 2 filters.
When ordering please specify the crossover frequency.
We have frequencies from 20Hz to 20KHz available.

The XM46SB is the same filter, but in a small metal utility cabinet.
The size is 4.5"w x 9.5"l x 2"h . See below. The box holds two channels.
This can be for example two low-pass filters or two hi-pass filters or one low-pass and one high-pass.

Second, third or fourth order filters, high pass or low-pass , 80Hz and higher cutoff frequency.
Each channel has a 12 position level control attenuator with 1dB steps.

XM446 Fully Balanced high pass filter:

Small metal enclosure.
Similar to XM46 above, but fully balanced and no attenuators.
XLR connectors on two sides, 10.5" x 6.7"
x 2.1" (LxWxH, without connectors or feet).
Second, third or fourth order filters, high pass or low-pass , 80Hz and higher cutoff frequency.
High quality inductors and polypropylene capacitors.
Part number is XM446XLR-A.
